TRIBUTE Series

PRESENTING THE NEW TRIBUTE SERIES R40+1

Price: $36.00 & FREE SHIPPING

Our Muhle R41 replica is a minor miracle of precision, ergonomics and beauty, and is created for ambitious wet shavers. As you will notice the base plate has been modified, but the rest of the original design remains the same.
This makes our R40+1 a little less aggressive. If the original is 5/5 on the aggressiveness scale, our R40+1 is 4.5/5 which is often enough of a difference to make it more accessible to more shavers.

It combines high-quality metal-working (chrome-plating) with an extremely fine engraved finish. The model has an open comb.

Please note: only rose gold is available now. Quantities are limited. Act fast to avoid disappointment.

Please allow 4 weeks for delivery.

History:
The Tech was notable as the first Gillette razor sold with a solid safety bar rather than an open comb guard. From a manufacturing standpoint, the Tech was the first safety razor made with a guard plate stamped from sheet metal. Previously guard plates had been machined or swaged (die-forged) from stock. The Tech employed a characteristic diamond-indented guard plate. This depression stiffens the plate.

Notice the “Diamond” at the base of the plate?

The Tech, in various incarnations, was sold by the millions worldwide over a 40 year period. It was also awarded to U.S. troops by the Red Cross in WWII. Known for its “easy to shave with” personality, the Tech excelled in providing a nick free, comfortable shave.

The Tech was offered in different models with slightly different head designs over the years. The most recent head (which ours is based on,) was introduced at the very end of the 1965 model year.

Some of the countries that manufactured the Tech were the USA, Canada, England, Germany, France, Mexico, and Argentina.

The Tech came with three different handles and many differing variations of each.

The Ball End Handle was usually the heaviest (depending on the metal used to produce it.) But, it had the reputation of “cracking” over time, where it screws into the head. Because our razors are manufactured from stainless steel, we can provide a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects on the entire razor.

The Ball End handle came in many different metals including brass, steel, and aluminium. The handle also came in many different finishes.

Replitech Comes with a Ball End Handle.

The Fat Handled Tech was lighter than the Ball End Tech. Some say it was easier to hold. It provided a second option for customers to choose.

An Example of the Fat Handled Tech.

The Bakelite Handled Tech was sold to the military and the Red Cross during WWII. It used a plastic handle because metal was scarce during wartime as it was needed to produce military equipment. It is also known as the Contract Tech. If you were an officer, you did receive a more expensive metal-handled version, usually supplied with a fat handle.

The Contract Tech – It was produced for the military during WWII.

Our authentic replication of this fine classic razor pays tribute to it and to its maker.

TRIBUTE Series Repli-Speed

The Repli-Speed is designed after one of the most famous vintage razors of all time! It’ has a wonderful classic look, and shaves very efficiently and gently. Best of all Repli-Speed takes customers back to a simpler time, when people actually wet shaved.

Our Repli-Speed will be offered in two models. One of 100% stainless steel with a high gloss and durable chrome (nickel) finish. The other of stainless steel plated with stunning polished brass. The razor will sell for $35 and $40 respectively and it will be available for March 2019.

TRIBUTE Fat-Guy:

Gillette Model 195 Fat Boy. Also in Development.

100% authentic. 100% affordable. Faithful to the original at half the current vintage razor price, the TRIBUTE Series Fat-Guy will have all of the characteristics of the original. That is because it will be a faithful replica of a 1959 Fat Boy, a razor that is very sought after by collectors.

Fat Boys were only produced for four short years, so they’re less numerous than Gillette’s other adjustables, such as the Slim Adjustables and the Super Adjustables (Black Beauties).

We expect the Fat-Guy to sell for about $85.00. It will be CNC engineered and should be available in stainless steel by the summer of 2019. A gold plated and a rhodium plated model will also be offered.
